Clients and Advertising Accounts

AdPartner Suite uses the high level concept of a “Client” to represent a connection to an Amazon Advertising Account. There is always one Client selected, indicated in the dropdown on the right of the header bar. Once the Login With Amazon flow is completed and an ads account is selected, all marketplaces, campaigns, ad groups and targets in that account will be stored under the umbrella of this Client.

A single seller will generally only ever need one Client, called “Default Client”, and connect their advertising account to it. Our Trial, Starter, and Basic pricing plans allow only one Client. These plans cannot create a second Client, since a typical advertising account can be fully managed under the umbrella of one Client.

An advertising agency or marketeer may have been granted permissions to view multiple Amazon Ads accounts. In order to keep strict data boundaries and keep management straightforward, a separate Client should be created for each amazon ads account. Then, all tools, automation, reporting etc. can be performed per Client, ensuring actions taken on one account do not bleed over and affect the operation of another account. Our Pro pricing plan allows multiple Client bundles, depending on your needs.

Creating a Client

All new accounts should have a “Default Client” provided automatically, so you do not need to create a new Client after signing up for the app.

The User Management screen allows you to control Clients on your account. You can rename your “Default Client” to a more friendly name, and if you have a Pro license, click “Add Client” to create a new Client.

Connecting a Client to Amazon

The easiest way to connect a Client to an Amazon Ads Account is to visit the Dashboard and make sure the Client is selected at the top right of the screen. An unconnected Client will show the “Login With Amazon” button instead of the normal Dashboard, and take you through the authentication flow.

After logging on with Amazon, your available accounts and marketplaces will be fetched and offered, so you can choose which account will be connected with the current Client. We strongly recommend you do not mix multiple accounts on one Client, and to add all Marketplaces for an account at the same time.

Automatic Sync With Amazon After Connection

Once the Account has been selected, an automatic Sync will begin. Check the Notifications dropdown in the header bar to view its progress, which can take anything from a few seconds to a minute or two.

At the same time, historical Report data will be requested from Amazon, to backfill the last 90 days of metric and performance data for your Campaigns and Targets, including Search Term reports. Many of the app features require this data, so it’s best to wait 30 minutes or so for the Reports to be fully ingested before trying to use the app’s analytics features. In the meantime, it’s a good idea to set up Day Parting rules or PPC Optimisation Algorithms you are going to use.
